Fwd: My trip to the store
of gun powder and bullets the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."
Making a mental note to complain to Harper about the gun registry people running amok, I did just as she had instructed.
When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to my credit card.
I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.
They need to make their instructions to us seniors a little clearer!

FW: Read this sentence carefully
takes something from your grasp, he's not
punishing you, but merely opening your hands to
receive something better. Concentrate on this
sentence. "The will of God will never take you
where the Grace of God will not protect you."
Something good will happen to you today,
something that you have been waiting to hear.
Please do not break. Just 27 Words, 'God our
Father, walk through my house and take away all
my worries and illnesses and please watch over
and heal my family in your name, Amen' This
prayer is so powerful. Pass this to 12 people
including me. A blessing is coming to you in
form of a new job, a house, marriage or

This

Fwd: Moms
WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's mom like me.
What kind of a little girl was your mom?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.
What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?
Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on.
Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.
What's the difference between moms and dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friends.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine..
What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.
What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.
WHEN YOU STOP LAUGHING -- SEND IT ON TO OTHER MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS, AND AUNTS.... and anyone else who has anything to do with kids or just needs a good laugh!!!

Fwd: Editorial About First Lady
Mychal Massie is chairman of the National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives-Project 21 - a conservative black think tank located in Washington , D.C. He was recognized as the 2008 Conservative Man of the Year by the Conservative Party of Suffolk County, N.Y. He is a nationally recognized political activist, pundit and columnist. He has appeared on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN, NBC, Comcast Cable and talk-radio programming nationwide.
Here is his article about our current First Lady.
What on earth can Michelle Obama possibly be tired from? What has she done since her husband was elected that gives her one reason to be tired? I know that flying, for the proletariat such as myself, can be tiring and, more times than not, a genuine pain - but she flies in presidential luxury, sans the president. And the only checkin' in and full-body scan she goes through at an airport is when she looks at herself in a mirror.
We, the taxpayers of this great nation, demand to know just what it is that has her royalness so worn out and tired, that after just enjoying a lavish 17-day Hawaiian Christmas vacation (that cost taxpayers $4 million), she needs another vacation at one of the most exclusive (and anti-union) resorts in the country.
It cannot be that she is overworked because, if the liberal Los Angeles Times is to be believed, between them, the Obamas have 454 White House aides, at a cost to the taxpayers of more than $37 million annually - and that doesn't include recent pay raises. (See: "No Recession For Obama's 454 White House aides: They'll make $37,121,463 this year"; Andrew Malcolm, July 5, 2011.) And before you ask - yes, that is more than President and Mrs. Bush had, and I was one of the lone voices decrying the small size and cost of Laura Bush's staff.
Could Ms. Obama still be suffering fatigue from the weight of having kept secret, for two years, her extravagant Halloween costume ball? Even though they used military families as a cover in case it got out, the last thing she wanted the public to know was that, while Americans were suffering in the depths of recession, she had the biggest players in Hollywood doing an exclusive costume party just for herself and her family.
Or perhaps it's the lingering effects of taking her mother and daughters to South Africa and Botswana, or the sheer exhaustion of rushing out of Washington, four hours ahead of her husband, so she wouldn't have to share her presidential jet with him on the way to Martha's Vineyard for their annual beach break.
Then again, maybe she was exhausted from her personal $50,000 underwear shopping spree with the queen of Qatar, at Agent Provocateur, the store that bills itself as selling "the most erotic lingerie in the world. Realizing that you're responsible for closing down Madison Avenue can be tiring, and watching staff carry all those bags back to her limousines. Whew! - that would sure wear me out. And after the tiring experience of picking out all of those exotic undies, what better place to recover than an uber-posh Vail resort and the private home owned by Paula and Jim Crown?
Or maybe she's worn out from rolling around on the floor to the delight of Ellen Degeneres, or making muscles on a daytime show, or pulling on a rope on another show, or eating at all of the restaurants where she loves to pig it up. Then again, maybe Ms. Obama is just an arrogant, high-minded person who doesn't give a rat's tail about propriety or how her behavior looks to a suffering public because, after all, her husband claims the economyis improving, and who are we going to believe - the reality of our financial situation or her husband?
Michelle Obama can afford to live life large since every dime she's spending comes on the backs and sweat of others. Nothing, zip, that she spends did she personally earn. And therein is the disgusting elitism of a woman who forgets where she came from, and dares you to remind her.
We are responsible for the billionaire life she lives, and it's time we started demanding that she be accountableto us. It's time we started confronting Obama at every press conference and/or speaking venue about the behavior of his wife. He is spending hundreds of millions of our money, flying around the country to raise a billion dollars for his campaign war chest, and we're paying $4 per gallon for fuel. We've lost our homes, our mortgages are upside-down, our property taxes aren't enough to cover the increasing cost of infrastructure because of the drain of resources by illegal aliens, and all of this is happening as the price of putting milk and cereal on our tables is rising dramatically.
But why shouldn't she be smiling??? For the first time in her adult life, she is proud of America - and why not? She has tens of millions of peons paying for her very own private reparations - now that's enough to put a smile on any elitist's face!
PASS IT ON !!!! (So other taxpayers can see how their dollars are being spent.)

The Little Things YOU Don’t Know About ObamaCare
- Increase taxes on (once again) the upper class... but that was a duh given considered this administration's bizarre distaste for successful people.
- Charges a fee to insurance providers.... Which of course is going to be passed on somehow, somewhere.
- Imposes fee on branded drugs... Once again, this cost will get passed on somehow, somewhere.
- Raises the AGI floor for medical deductions from 7.5% to 10%... Guess they think only the rich have medical deductions. This WILL affect middle class homes too!
- Limit contributions to flexible spending/cafeteria plans... Since those over a certain income cannot even participate in these then this here DIRECTLY HITS THE MIDDLE CLASS!
- Summary of spending offsets: (ten year projection)
- Reduce funding for Medicare Advantage policies: $132 billion
- Reduce Medicare home health care payments: $40 billion
- Reduce certain Medicare hospital payments: $22 billion
***** Estimated cuts to Medicare by whomever made this projections is $194 Billion!
- Reduce funding for Medicare Advantage policies: $132 billion
- Medicare patients with chronic illnesses MUST be re-evaluated every 3 months
- Insurers must spend a certain percentage of premium dollars on eligible expenses...
Whoa! Since when in this country was a for-profit company forced to limit profit???
- Anyone (single individuals and self-employed) with earned income over $200,000,
married filing together with earned income over $250,000 (yes, a marriage penalty... Go Figure), and married filling separately with earned income over $125,000 each will have to pay an additional Medicare tax.
- Also, anyone with unearned income over the above limits will pay an ADDITIONAL tax..... So far this plan sounds like its doing a LOT of additional taxing to ALL!
- By 2016, anyone without not covered under an “acceptable” insurance policy will pay an fine of up to 2.5% of their income over the filing minimum.... The government is expecting and counting on at least 4 million people paying this fine! So at least now we know how they are hoping to reduce some debt!
- For the first 2 years, any small business with less than 11 full time employees with their average salary being less than $25,000 annually will receive a 50% refund on insurance premiums paid!!!! This rebate is reduced by 6.7% per additional employee and 4% per additional $1,000 of average compensation......So the administration is ENCOURAGING small businesses to under pay and only hire part time workers!!! WOW!
- An excise tax on pharmaceutical companies that is based on their market share.... More costs that will be passed on somewhere, somehow.
- An excise tax on medical devices.... Now would be a good time for me to turn a nice payday on my nebulizer.... Any buyers????
- A tax on insurance companies (in addition to the fee they pay) based on their market share.... Again, this will somehow be passed on somewhere, somehow.
- Payments to physicians will be based on quality.... I foresee time-consuming and irritating surveys in all of our futures. And then doctors dropping out of the medical field because in this country so many can never by pleased and so many just won’t bother with these surveys.
I also think you should read Bad Medicine... very informative and more nicely written than my bulleted guide here.

Obama/Clinton: Here's a Math Problem
Clinton started the "negative income tax"! Of course people loved him! He gave people who PAID NO TAXES a REFUND.
Do the math... You pay $0 in taxes and yet you get a check for $2k as a refund. So if 30% of Americans are paying absolutely not a dime in and yet they are receiving at least a $2K check from the IRS as a "refund", how much DEBT does that equal? How much "unapplied" welfare is that?
Of course Obama wants to rape the "more fortunate"?
I understand envy. I would love to have a 10-bedroom home. If nothing else, just to play hide and seek in but I can't. I understand that. I want a car that can run 180mph. I can't afford that. But I don't envy those who can so much to think its ok to take HALF of the income of those who have made themselves successful.
Why are Americans ok with taking from one to give to another? My mother may have taught me to share but she also to not hate others. She said its ok to want what others have but if you want that YOU have to make it happen. She said nothing is free... Or at least it use to be the only thing free was samples at the grocery store. Now, suddenly the less fortunate (and surprise! I am one of those) is entitled to something they didn't break a sweat for, didn't sit up at night trying to consider different plans on how to achieve the goal that would buy that massive home and fast car, and they didn't "risk it all on"?
Give me a break! I want my son learn if you want it then you have to work for it. That NOTHING is free! I want my son to enjoy the fruits of his labor!
I want him to learn to say GOD BLESS THE USA!

Do Not Use Bribery on MY CHILD
Dear Ms. Teacher,
Nathaniel told me he received some Johnsonville cash. I am aware that most parents are ignorant to the fact that they can object and refuse certain policies the school puts in place, such as this, but I am NOT one of those parents.
DO NOT GIVE MY CHILD REWARDS!
I have agreed to allow him to participate in Fun Friday as that appears to be a healthy activity for him. But I absolutely will not tolerate a reward behavior modification program. Such experiments only provide temporary, immediate positive results but many studies show negative long term results. And, of course, regardless of clinical studies, he is my child and I choose how he is taught discipline and manners.
If there is an issue with this feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
The Parent

North Carolina Penalizing Restaurants & Food Vendors
Gloves for food handlers for businesses that sell prepared food is not just an expensive penalty but its also impractical unless all you do is serve food using a spoon.
Good hand washing with soap and water is what hopefully people use at home and that is sufficient for businesses too!
Food prices are already jacking up. Those price increases are already showing up and will continue increasing at restaurants because of increasing food costs. The glove requirement WILL make the prices at restaurants go up even more!
North Carolina imposing more regulation that increases a business's cost even more is ridiculous! Increases cost means increase prices which will impact businesses.

Letter 2 to My Son's Teacher Addressing Snack Issue & Behavior Modification Program
August 28, 2012
Dear Ms. Teacher,
My son told me that he was not allowed to eat his snack today at snack time because he did not bring enough to share. I hope this was just the misunderstanding of a 6-year old and that he won't have any future confusion about this. I have again put his snack in his backpack and I expect he will be allowed to have it at snack time.
Also, I understand Monday he received a "monetary" reward. I have no problem with him participating in Fun Friday but am totally opposed to a monetary behavior modification program and do not want my child being rewarded for doing as he is told or for what is expected. I understand the money is not real but my opposition to this type of discipline/training program is beyond words. I wouldn't use a system like this on a pet so I definitely would not tolerate it being implemented on my child.
If there is an issue with this feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
The Mom

Letter I Wrote My Son's Teacher Regarding Snacks
August 27, 2012
Dear Ms. Teacher,
I received your snack calendar, however, I send my son with a snack to school everyday in the side pocket of his backpack. I have no problem with sending/bringing an item or two for class parties and his birthday but I cannot fathom sending or bringing snacks for the class even once per month.
To explain it better: My son is too small to carry that much snack by himself. There really isn't room on the bus for him to "lug" on extra stuff that can't fit in his backpack with the other items he already is carrying. It is completely improbable for me to call in late to take snacks to the class, unless it is something like his birthday. And, whether it makes sense or not, it's uneconomical for me to provide snacks for the class even once per month. I can personally save money and provide better nutrition by making snacks for my son but because of asinine policies I cannot make snacks for the classroom and store bought products are expensive.
I understand this prevents my son from participating in the "class snack" but that is quite fine. Like I stated, he will always have a snack in the pocket of his backpack. He can also eat whatever is left from his lunch.
Sincerely,
The Mom

The Fat Makes Fun of the Skinny
This is the second time in a 7-day period some overweight dumbasses laughed at me for being little. Two guys last week mocked me for buying organic and low fat foods.... They were rocking the severely obese flag so hard I was too shock to speak. (Me? Quiet? I know!)
Why does sometimes it looks and sounds like its more acceptable today to be obese than it is to be healthy?!? I'd rather be skinny and healthy any day.

My Baby is Going to First Grade
Everything that can be ready is ready. Per his request he has a nice shorts outfit ready. His lunch is packed with PB&J, fruit cups, cookies, and fruit/veggie juice. His backpack is loaded with most of the that ridiculous list and signed paperwork.
Only thing not ready... He has to decide which shoes to wear. I'm suddenly wishing I gave him less option. Lol.
I'm not ready. I really wish he could have stayed a baby. I'm betting every first day every year will be difficult.
Ugh tomorrow morning.

AUGUST 1st to SEPTEMBER 1st SUPPORT "MADE IN THE USA"!!!
Did y'all see Diane Sawyer's special report? They removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the USA .
There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. During the special they showed truckloads of items - USA made - being brought in to replace everything and talked about how to find these items and the difference in price etc..
It was interesting that Diane said if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like
200,000 new jobs!
I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA '
FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA '
I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF
Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? The Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets.
70% of Americans,.. believe that the
Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed atwhat you can do without.
Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.
THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans each refuse to buy just $20 of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!
Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on Aug.1st and continue it until Sept. 1st. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.
Remember, August 1st to Sept. 1st! START NOW.
Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.
If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives,WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!
Pass it on, America ...
Well, come to think of it, instead of doing it for just 1 month why not try to do it all the time. |

Stop Overprotecting and Close the Doors
Every night you go to sleep you risk not waking up. Every time you get in your car you risk that being your last breath. To live is to risk the unknowing. To live is to risk death. You can't live without death.
The point is to live. Take advantage of the time you have. But don't stop living.
Don't start demanding double and triple security. We already have created a bubblewrap society for our children and yet we still can't protect them from everything. Teach them stranger danger. Teach them to stop drop and roll. Teach them to avoid danger. Teach them to defend themselves. But don't bubblewrap them any more than they already are.
Let them live. Let yourself live.
And for peace's sake somebody stop the ushers from constantly opening the emergency exits! Thank you!

One year later...
In this year, not every moment was perfect but so many were beyond great, I finally learned to think before I speak, to compromise occasionally, and to not always be right. I don't like every moment but I love every moment together. I'm a lucky girl.
And today, for the first time, he told me loved me. That moment was only 2nd to the moment my son was born.
I wish tonight I could be spending this evening with him. This morning I waited with him until he loaded into the back of a truck and left for Green Ramp. Tonight feels like the longest night I can remember in the longest time. And this is just Day One. I hope today started the 90-day countdown because an extra 2 days seems even more unbearable.
I'll be alright and, more importantly, he'll be back. And when he does get back, we'll do something nice. I don't know what to say other than I miss him and I'm so glad I kept trying.
I love him.
